Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the Yoga Day program in the United States on June 21st. This is the first opportunity for the Prime Minister to be abroad on the occasion of Yoga Day since assuming office. On the occasion of the completion of nine years of International Yoga Day, Prime Minister Modi will perform yoga along with representatives from more than 180 countries at the United Nations.

Theme of Yoga Day

The theme for International Yoga Day is chosen each year to provide a specific focus for the celebrations. In the year 2023, the theme for Yoga Day is "One World, One Health, based on the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam." This theme has been selected by the Ministry of Ayush. It is important to note that yoga is considered the best means to maintain good health. Yoga is an integral part of India's ancient culture, and in earlier times, sages and ascetics practiced yoga to maintain their own well-being.
