Tipu: Sandeep Singh released the poster of 'Tipu' with soot on his face, claiming to reveal the reality of the king of Mysore

Filmmaker Sandeep Singh, who made PM Narendra Modi's biopic, has announced his new film 'Tipu', in which Tipu Sultan's face is blackened. The intention is clear that he is going to try to show the face of Tipu Sultan, whose scars are going to be seen not only on his hem but also on his face. Sandeep is also making a film 'Swatantryaveer Savarkar' on Savarkar these days, in which Randeep Hooda is not only playing the lead role, but is also directing it.

The film 'Tipu', announced by producer Sandeep Singh along with his associate producer Rashmi Sharma, is according to them a slice of history exposing the religious bigotry of the Mysore king. Sandeep Singh says, 'Tipu Sultan was very fanatic and jihadi, very few people know this thing. Our history textbooks are full of Tipu's achievements. But when the writer of the film Rajat Sethi wrote the story of the film after extensive research, I got goosebumps after reading it. I was shocked to know the reality of Tipu Sultan. Through this film, I want to expose his dark side to the coming generation.

Director Pawan Sharma, who is going to direct the film 'Tipu', says, 'I was completely shaken and disappointed after knowing his reality as a staunch Muslim king. Our history has been manipulated to make Tipu Sultan look like a hero when he forced people to convert to Islam and destroyed temples and churches. Tipu Sultan's Islamic bigotry was much worse than that of his father, Hyder Ali Khan.

And the film's writer Rajat Sethi says, 'Tipu Sultan' is such a historical figure whose praise has been exaggerated and his cruelties have been neatly hidden in our textbooks. Not only history but also popular culture, films, theatres, etc. have systematically neglected a realistic and balanced portrayal of Tipu. This film is an attempt to rectify this story.

Tipu, backed by Eros International, Rashmi Sharma Films and Sandeep Singh, will be directed by Pawan Sharma and researched and developed by Rajat Sethi. The film will be released in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

Although this Tipu Sultan is also accused of breaking temples and massacring Hindus.                                                                                                      Hindu organizations claim that Tipu was not secular, but an intolerant and despotic ruler.

In the 19th century, British Government official and writer William Logan wrote in his book 'Malabar Manual' how Tipu Sultan wreaked havoc in Calicut with his 30,000-strong contingent. Tipu Sultan publicly hanged men and women and their children were hanged around their necks. In this book, William has also made many allegations on Tipu Sultan like breaking the temple, church and forced marriage.
